Arbitrary files, such as PDFs, HTML files, and Microsoft PowerPoint or Word documents, can now be imported into projects so that they can be referenced from courses in the published output.
To import an arbitrary file, create a hyperlink (from any text, image or image hotspot), then in the Insert Hyperlink dialogue, click Course Resource, and use the standard Import or Browse buttons to select the file you wish the hyperlink to link to. The file selected will be maintained with the project, including being shared to your collaboration server and included in the published output.
Arbitrary files can also be used within HTML5 interactions, again by referencing them using hyperlinks.
When a hyperlink is clicked in the published, any files referenced from the hyperlink will open in a separate window.
Note: It is the author's responsibility to ensure that the learner's browser has the required support for the embedded file type.
This feature will in most cases remove the need to add a resources folder manually to a project after publication.
